Christmas Morning 2010

We spent Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's house this year. Uncle Jon and Aunt Char were there also, and it was fun to be with cousins on Christmas morning.

Miraculously, the kids slept in until 7:15 and patiently played the Wii upstairs 'til Grandma got her hair done and had the rolls raising.

This my friends, is a Jupiter 1600 horsepower, high-octane, dual propeller, pull ignition, outboard motor...with the optional chrome trim package.

Actually, it's a Lego Hero Factory action figure.  But I just love Caleb's face :o)

Justin got missionary clothes for the Build-a-Bear that his brothers made for him before he was born, although he was most excited about his new pacifiers.

We spent the day shooting each other with nerf guns, watching new movies, stuffing our faces, napping, and enjoying family.

It was a perfect day.

Christmas Eve Live Nativity

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Oh! Christmas Tree...

Here is our 2010 "upstairs tree". I decorated it myself after the kids went to bed. It's so much more enjoyable that way. Since we had two tree's this year, I had to split our ornaments between the two, and I ended up using some of our fall decor (fake fruit and berries), as well as some dried oranges that I dehydrated, to fill in the gaps.

The boys decorated the tree downstairs. I had a nice FHE lesson planned entitled "Christmas Tree Decorating 101: What every boy should know" but I ran out of time to give it.

So...we got this:
I sat on the couch and twitched while the boys took over. Todd couldn't handle the carnage, and had to remove himself from the situation. When the boys were finished, I took one of the baby's orphaned socks and threw it on the tree from afar. It was the perfect finale.

Next year I'll be sure to give my lesson...
